Christmas Meal Blog Post

It is a tradition for the Association of Carers to provide a Christmas Meal for Carers, the people they care for and Volunteers, so that they can come together and celebrate the support they give to each other.

In December 2023, we hosted three meals in three locations across East Sussex.

This year’s Christmas Meals was a resounding success, with over 100 attendees across the three locations. The atmosphere was festive and joyful, with Carers and Volunteers mingling and sharing their stories.

The meals themselves were delicious, with a variety of options to cater to different dietary requirements and preferences. We would like to say thank you to Coast Kitchen, The Langham Hotel and The Highlands for being an integral part of the event, the great service with food and drinks and ensuring that everyone felt welcome.

In addition to enjoying a hearty meal, representatives of the Association of Carers gave a short speech at each meal to thank all the Carers and the Volunteers for all they do to support the charity. We believe that our success is a collective effort, and we are grateful for everyone’s involvement in making a difference to the lives of Carers and their loved ones.

To fund the Christmas Meals, the charity ran a big Christmas Raffle with over 20 prizes. The prizes ranged from big luxury hampers to vouchers for local restaurants and shops. The community really came together to support the charity’s cause and tickets sold out quickly. The raffle was drawn at the last meal held at the Langham Hotel and the winners were delighted with their prizes.

Overall, the Christmas Meal was a wonderful way to bring the Association of Carers community together and celebrate the amazing work that they do. We’re already looking forward to next year’s event and hope to see even more people attend and share in the festive cheer.
